Book blog
day boo yah. As you should know Tuesdays is book blog day were we
talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's
blog is on Haunted London by James Clark
From
heart-stopping accounts of apparitions, manifestations and related
supernatural phenomena to first-hand encounters with ghouls and
spirits, this collection of stories contains new and well-known
spooky tales from famous sights and buildings in the centre of
London. Drawing on historical and contemporary sources Haunted London
contains a chilling range of ghostly phenomena. From the monk
ghost who clanks his chain's on Buckingham Palace's terrace every
Christmas Day, the Phantom horse-bus that occasionally rattles along
Bayswater Road to the haunted Pig Tree, a terrifying apparition that
frequents Green Park, the colourful tales featured here create a
scary selection of ghostly goings-on that is bound to captivate
anyone interested in the supernatural history of the area.

Haunted
London was Published on August 31st 2007 by Tempus
Publishing and is one of a series of books covering Haunted towns and
cities mainly around the UK.
I came
across Haunted London in a Waterstones whilst perusing the spiritual
section and bought it amongst a plethora of other books related to
haunted places. I'm glad this is a non-fiction book rather than
fiction 'cause Ive found ghost stories can be a bit repetitive and a
little monotonous at times (this is due to several stories being
similar no matter where it was). I love that the book is on London
(My countries Capital) which is one of my favourite cities and
haunted hotspots around it.
James Clark was born in and remains a wanderer of the darkest depths of south London, UK. It can be a weird old place, this often overlooked hinterland of the world's greatest city*, and his books include several collections of local ghost stories, folklore and history.

Ghosts and
Paranormal events are very high on my love to research list along
with history research. I've had this love since I was a child and I
watched the pilot episode of Most Haunted (British TV show). I don't
really have much of an opinion on James Clark other than he
researched the book really well and gave the right balance of story
and research, and I cant particularly find his foot print online. I
give the book as a whole a 9/10.
