Hey there Earthlings, Alternatives and Trollers. Put down that mouse and lend an ear. Welcome to The Bandersnatch blog where we talk weird, wacky and wondrous. I'm Mama Ogre and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on Brighton comic-con.

A comic book convention or Comic-con is an event with a primary focus on comic books and comic book culture, in which comic book fans gather to meet creators, experts and each other. Commonly comic conventions are multi-day events hosted at convention centres, hotels, or college campuses. They feature a wide variety of activities and panels, with a larger number of attendees participating in cosplay than most other types of fan conventions. Comic book conventions are also used as a vehicle for industry, in which publishers, distributes, and retailers represent their comic-related releases. Comic book conventions may be considered derivatives of Science-fiction conventions, which began in the late 1930's.
- Comic-con wiki

The first official convention for comic books was held in 1964 in NYC and was called NYC comic-con. Early con's were usually small affairs, usually organised by local enthusiasts (such as Jerry Bails, aka the Father of Comic Fandom and Dave Kaler of the Academy of Comic-book fans and collectors) and featured several people of the industry as guests. Nowadays Comic-cons are BIG business with reoccurring events in many major towns and cities across the world. Comic book conventions in name only the biggest shows include horror, animation, anime, Manga, Toys, Collectables and More.

Brighton Comic-con and Gaming festival is being run by Moose events. Moose events is a small Husband and Wife team predominantly in the south-west after doing a successful comic-con event in October of 2017. Moose Events now runs several cons across the south from Devon and Cornwall to Somerset.

Now I am very excited for a comic-con to be in Brighton, since that's where I live and the nearest comic-cons to us are The MCM at the Excel London, and The LFCC at the London Olympia which often requires several months of planning, a multi-day hotel stay and several train tickets.

Brighton Comic-con and gaming festival is at the Brighton Racecourse on Freshfield road on Saturday 21st of March 2020 from 10:00 to 16:30. There will be free parking and a free shuttle bus option available from Brighton Train station. Links down below for tickets and other information.

There will be Pictures posted fromt he event on The Bandersnatch blogs instagram and Facebook pages, Subscribe and like on both pages to see them.
