Hey there Earthlings, Alternatives and Trollers. Put down that mouse and lend an ear. Welcome to The Bandersnatch blog where we talk weird, wacky and wondrous. I'm Mama Ogre and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the gaming franchise Assassins Creed.

Assassins creed started out life as one of the ideas for a Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time sequel, which was a 3D adaption of the original Prince of Persia games. Due to the Sands of Time being a critical and financial success, Ubisoft prompted Ubisoft Montreal to develop the sequel. During game development, the team decided to expand on the open world approach, taking advantage of the wide spaces and crowds, as well as taking the narrative away from a royal working for their position in line to the throne. Due to the research focus of assassins and secret societies with a lot of borrowing from the Novel Alamut (an 1938 Slovenian novel on the story of Hassan-i-Sabbah and the Hashshashin), the original name for the game would have been Prince of Persia: Assassin with the narrative focusing on the playable character is an assassin who is the bodyguard for the non-playable prince. However due to the higher ups being unhappy that the prince wouldn't be a playable character the Games name and focus changed to that of the Assassin and their creed “Nothing is true; Everything is permitted” leading to the new name and gaming property....Assassins creed.

Ubisoft Montreal ran with the idea after eliminating the Prince and ran with the secret societies more inserting the Knights Templar and the centuries long conflict between both the Templars and Assassins. In collecting an account of numerous assassinations that could be accountable for in human history as well as some medical research the team came up with the idea of Genetic Memory and created the “Animus” Device and modern storyline elements, which further allowed the explanation of specific facets of gameplay such as when the player fails a mission, a similar feat they used in The Sands of Time. Another element was the use of items called “Pieces of Eden” specialised artefacts which are capable of controlling free will, the team also used the race to find and control the “Pieces of Eden” as the games main focus.

The team delved into the creation of the “Pieces of Eden” as the games lore. The artefacts are the remnants of a pre-humanity species of the ancient variety called the Isu or Precursors. The Isu created humanity to live in peace alongside them, creating the artefacts as a means to control. Change comes in the form of Adam and Eve the first Isu-Human hybrids who are immune to the artefacts effects. Adam and Eve steal several pieces which kicks off a great war which ended with a Massive Solar Flare devastating the earth. The Isu start dying out as Humanity thrives with three Isu, Minerva, Juno and Jupiter attempting to prepare humanity for a future Solar Flare create vaults around the earth from which humanity could call up a protective shield and a communications system called the Eye. Juno however having seen humanity as a threat hid her consciousness in the vaults as a precaution when Minerva and Jupiter were forced to destroy her. With the last of the Isu dying all traces of them were in the worlds mythologies and religions the artefacts lost to time.

The gameplay itself takes place in the modern Era, in which the Templars have established a front as the mega-corporation called Abstergo Industries. Through Abstergo they've created the Animus that allows its user to relive the memories of their ancestors through their DNA and genetic material. Abstergo took up kidnapping people of Assassin decent to locate the missing Pieces of Eden via the Animus. A user is able to move around in the simulation of memories however anything done outside of what their ancestor did resulted in a “Desynchronization” of the memory. Further and extended use of the Animus creates a “Bleeding effect” that gives the user some of the skills and capabilities their ancestors experienced.

Reviews of Assassins Creed have mainly been positive, many reviewers have called assassins creed the standout series on the various consoles their played on. The series have been praised for the ambitious game design, visuals and narratives, but criticized for the technical issues and annual releases of instalments. This led to a general feeling of over-saturation and loss of innovation. As of September 2019 the series has sold over 140 million companies with 95 million game players, becoming Ubisoft's best franchise as well as the highest selling game franchises of all time.

Assassins Creed:

Desmond miles is captured by Abstergo and forced to use a machine called the Animus to explore Altair-ibn-La'Ahad's memories during the time of the third crusade. Altair is demoted to a novice of the Assassin Brotherhood by Al Mualim, the Brotherhood's leader, and tasked with assassinating the nine Knights Templar, including Robert IV of Sable, to regain his former status. Altair discovers that Al Mualim is also a Templar and holds a Piece of Eden. When Altair defeats Al Mualim and recovers the piece, he and those watching the animus view a holographic map showing where the other artefacts are located across the globe.

- Assassins creed wiki

Assassins creed introduced core elements that remains in the rest of the game series. The game created fictionalised the historical versions of Masyaf (location of the brotherhood), Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus, and incorporates numerous historical figures into the story. Free running, climbing, stealth, parkour and initial formation of the combat system are core elements that were included in the visualised Animus system. The game required the player to complete a number of side quests before they could obtain the assassin quest from a local Brotherhood Master of each city. The side quest pre-requisite was abandoned in future games. The game was released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 13th 2007 in North America, November 16th in Europe and November 21st in both Australia and New Zealand,

Assassin's creed went onto win several awards at E3 2006. It was awarded several awards from various brands including IGN and 1UP.com with awards such as “Best Action Game” and “Best PS3 game”. Assassins Creed hit the 143 spot on the top 200 games of all time list for Game Informer and by December 2015, Game Informer stated the game as the third best game under the Assassin's Creed franchise to date.

Assassins Creed was not my fist game in the franchise (That was AC2) as such when I did come to play the game it was very hard to actually use the controls and follow the gameplay. However I managed to work my way through the game and found it enjoyable. I definitely recommend this to Completist Gamers rather than casual and give the game a 7/10.

Assassin's Creed II

Having escaped Abstergo with the aid of Assassin Mole Lucy Stillman, Desmond explores the memories of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young nobleman from the late 15th century in Florence. Ezio trains as an Assassin to avenge his brothers, who were killed by order of a corrupt Templar official. He is aided by allies such as Leonardo da Vinci and Caterina Sforza, and combats enemies such as Rodrego Borgia. When Ezio uses Borgia's Pieces of Eden, he discovers a Hologram of a figure calling herself Minerva, who warns Desmond, through Ezio, of a disaster that destroyed her society and may soon destroy Humanity.

- Assassin's Creed II wiki.

Similar to the First AC2 takes place in the historical recreations of Venice, Florence, Forli, San Gimignano and the Tuscan countryside with events of the period being incorporated as part of the story. The missions are mainly memory sequence missions reflecting points in Ezio's life, with side missions having the ability to be accomplished at any time. This kept the game consistent within itself and the franchise at the same time. The added function of upgrading The Monteriggioni Villa provides the extra function of expansion via the purchase of artwork, weapons and armour as well as money generation fro the character.

The game was officially announced by Yves Guillemot on November 26th 2008 during the company's financial performance report. Whilst it was speculated to be set in the events of the French revolution by Michael Pachter in Game Trailers “Bonus Round” it proved to be a false guess. Ubisoft released a promotional video on April 6th showing several new details and by April 16th Game Informer released more details of the game including both pictures of Ezio and a new Teaser Trailer leading to Ubisoft “Officially” announcing the game.

On June 1st 2009, Ubisoft released a four minute climatic trailer for Assassin's Creed II at E3 followed by a six minute demo play at the Sony press conference. Game Trailers released an exclusive Developer walk-through from the 2009 E3 and with an interview from Ubisoft Montreal's creative director Patrice Desilets revealed Desmond would do more than just walking around discovering clues. It was also announced at an Assassin's Creed panel at the 2009 Comic-Con that a mini-series of three episodes named Assassin's Creed: Lineage would be released as an addition to the game showing the history of Ezio and his father Giovanni.

It was revealed that new character Shaun Hastings would be modelled on and voiced by Humorist Danny Wallice with Actress Lucy Bell returning to voice Lucy Stillman. Whilst the game was meant to be released across all platforms at the same time, Ubisoft announced on September 24th 2009 that the PC version would be delayed until early 2010 for “a bit more time for the dev team to deliver the best quality game”.

Upon the games release AC2 received critical acclaim with Review Aggregator site Metacritic giving the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions a score of 91 and 90 respectively making AC2 the highest rated game from a franchise on the site. AC2 went onto receive numerous nominations and awards including Best Action Adventure Game at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards and numerous “Outstanding” wins from the D.I.C.E. Awards at the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. In the midst of the acclaim a few pointed out the PC version deserved better and wasnt worth the price with how it came out. The game is included in the 2010 book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die and in December 2015 Game Informer ranked AC2 the second best of the AC franchise to date.

This was the first game of the Assassins Creed Franchise I played and as such it has a special place in the gaming corner of my heart. As the Assassin's Creed franchise as a whole this game is recommanded to all Completist Gamers and I give the game a 9/10.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Desmond continues reliving Ezio's memories to try to identify the location of the Apple of Eden. After Monteriggioni is invaded and the Apple is stolen by Cesare Borgia, Rodrigo's son, Ezio works, alongside such figures as Niccolo Machiavelli, to liberate Rome from Borgia influence and train other Assassin's. Ezio eventually kills Cesare and recovers the apple, taking it to hide under the colosseum. In the present Desmond locates the apple. As he picks it up another hologram figure, calling herself Juno, appears, and forces Desmond to stab Lucy (because she has deflected to the Templars) before he falls into a coma.

- Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Wiki

Brotherhood shares several of the same features from the previous game despite taking place mainly in Rome. Similar to the Villa Upgrades, the player has the ability to buy and upgrade shops and various facilities across the city for an increase of revenue. The introduction of the extended brotherhood of assassins is a new addition with the ability to invite citizens to become assassins and send them off for missions. Brotherhood is the first game to involve online multiplay, with players playing as Abstergo employees using generic Renaissance Templars in various game modes. It was the Last Assassin's Creed to involve creative director Patrice Desilets.

AC; Brotherhood like its predecessor received critical acclaim upon its release, receiving 90%+ for both the PS3 version and the Xbox 360 version on both reviewer websites GameRankings and Metacritic respectively. Awards came in the form of Best Adventure Game in the Spike TV Video game awards for 2010 and was nominated in the 2011 British Academy Video Games Awards, The game went onto garner 11 nominations including Best Game. Whilst it won in the Action category it lost out to Mass Effect 2 for Best Game. A week after its release AC: Brotherhood passed the one million mark in sales, becoming Ubisoft's fastest-selling European title ever and as of November 2010 is the best selling launch title ever. I LOVE brotherhood it's personally my favourite game out of the Assassin's Creed Franchise, I recommend it to everyone not just Completist Gamers and give the game a 9/10.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Within the computerized “core” of the Animus, Subject 16 (Clay Kaczmarek) explains to a comatose Desmond that his mind must achieve full synchronisation with Altair and Ezio, or he will fall into Dementia. In Ezio's memories, years after brotherhood, Ezio seeks in Ottoman-held Constantinople the five keys needed to open Altair's library. Ezio finds the city in a feud between brothers Selim I and the Templar-allied Sehzade Ahmet vying for the Sultanate. As Ezio finds the keys, he is able to use them to witness Altair's memories. When Ezio and his love interest Sofia go to the library in Masyaf, they find Altair's corpse and a piece of Eden, and Ezio, understanding he is a messenger to Desmond, speaks to him directly. A holographic being calling himself Jupiter explains to Desmond through Ezio that the key to stopping the 2012 solar flare, similar to the one that wiped out his society, lies in the first civilisations technology commanded by vaults linked to a central vault in New York. Desmond wakes up, and heads to New York to save Humanity.

- Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Original conceptualisation of Assassin's Creed Revelations was Assassin's Creed Lost Legacy (the storyline was about Ezio travelling to Masyaf and discovering the origins of the Assassin order), on the Nintendo 3DS, it was originally announced at the 2010 E3 press conference however it was cancelled but the main storyline was incorporated into Revelations. After the cancellation and shift to develop the game for the PS3, Xbox one and PC the original plot was tweaked a little to what is seen in the final gameplay. New systems and additional weapons were included as well as multiplayer mode, more characters, maps, advancement through levels of experience and learning of Abstergo's History.

Revelations garnered some generally positive reviews upon its release with an 80%+ for the PS3 version, a 79%+ for the Xbox one version and a 74%+ for the PC version. As of Review websites GameRankings and Metacritic. 1UP gave the game a rating of B+ adding that “While Revelations lacks that one supreme improvement or standout mechanic that defined AC2 and Brotherhood each, its still a damn fine send off for Altair and Ezio”. In 2015 Game Informer Ranked Revelations as the seventh best in the Assassin's Creed Franchise. It took me a long time to play Revelations mainly due to gameplay rather than storyline, but I did manage to finish it. As usual I recommand the game to completist Gamers especially those of the Assassin's Creed Franchisee and give the game a 6/10.

Assassin's Creed III

Desmond and his allies arrive at the Temple in a New York cave on October 31st 2012, where they discover a larger chamber of Precursor technology behind it. Including another door. Desmond falls into a fugue state, and is put into the Animus.

In the Animus, he experiences the memories of Haytham Kenway, a British Templar agent with allies such as Charles Lee, and of Haytham's son Ratonhnhake:ton (Later nicknamed Connor), whose heritage is half Mohawk. Ratonhnhake:ton witnesses Lee and his troops destroy his village; years later, Juno speaks to him through a Piece of Eden and instructs hum to receive training from Achilles Davenport, a retired Assassin. Through him, Connor meets Patriots in the Revolution, helping them to stop several Templar plans, including an assassination attempt against George Washington. Between Memories, Desmond helps his allies recover power sources to power the temple scattered across the globe, including one held by Abstergo. Connor faces his father and kills Lee, ending the Templar threat and hides Haytham's stolen Medallion which leads to the Temple. Desmond and his allies find the Medallion in the present; in the Temple they find a control sphere capable of stopping the solar flare. Juno and Minerva both appear, the latter warning Desmond not to use the sphere, since it will release Juno, who could threaten mankind's future. Desmond ops to release Juno, believing humanity will have a better chance of fighting Juno. The energy from the control sphere protects Earth from the solar flare, but kills Desmond.

- Assassins Creed III Wiki

AC III is structured similar to its predecessors, with Missions taking place on an open world, with this open world based on Colonial Boston and New York with a large wilderness area, the frontier and the Davenport Homestead, where the player can hunt animals for materials, which can be used for trading and selling through the colonies. Navel battles were introduced with players controlling the ship called Aquila in dangerous waters with ship-to-ship combat. The Modern Day included expanded aspects of both story, Mission and other locations including Manhattan, Rome and Brazil.

Assassin's Creed III received positive reviews with many critics praising the visuals, narrative, combat and hunting mechanics as well as naval missions and the Homestead system, all the while giving complaints about the game's glitches and the missions layouts. G4 stated that AC III wasnt perfect but due to the storylines, multiplayer extras and the more stuff needed to be done by the player gave the average 10 hour game shame. Assassin's Creed III was ranked as the Ninth best game in the Assassin's Creed series as done so by Game Informer.

Assassin's Creed III was named game of the year 2012 by Game Revolution as well as receiving six nominations for that years various gaming awards. AC III also won Outstanding Achievement in Animation at the 2013 D.I.C.E Interactive Achievement Awards as well as being nominated for two more. AC III also went onto receive four more nominations at the Game Developer's Choice Awards 2013. I didn't play Assassins Creed III due to a combination of unable to afford the game at the time and not liking the Storyline when I heard it. As such I cant recommend the game or give it a rating.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Samples from Desmond Miles' body in the moments after his death have enabled Abstergo Industries to continue to explore his genetic memories using the Animus' newfound cloud computing abilities. The unnamed player character is hired by Abstergo's entertainment division to sift through the memories of Edward Kenway an eighteenth-century pirate and Grandfather of Connor. Ostensibly, this is to gather material for an Animus-powered interactive video game, but in reality, Abstergo and the Templars are searching for the observatory, a precursor structure that allows the user to see through the eyes of a subject. As Kenway, the player must unravel a conspiracy between high-ranking Templars to manipulate the British, Spanish and French empires into locating the Sage—later identified as Bartholemew Roberts—who is the only man who can lead them to the Observatory.

In the present day, the player is contacted by John, Abstergo Entertainments information technology manager. John convinces the player that his employer knows more than they are telling, and encourages them to investigate in more detail. He arranges for the player to access the Animus's core, at which point Juno materialises into an incorporeal form. She reveals that although it was necessary to open her temple to avert disaster, the world was not ready for her, and she is unable to affect it or possess the player character as her agents intended. John is unmasked as the reincarnated form of the Safe and attempts to murder the player to cover up the failed attempt at resurrecting Juno, but is killed by Abstergo's security before he can do so. As Roberts, the Sage admits to Kenway that he owes no allegiance to the Assassin's or the Templars and instead uses whoever he thinks represents his best chance at achieving his ends.

- Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Wiki

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was released on October 29th 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii with a secondary release for the Wii on November 21st in Australia, November 22nd for Europe and November 28th for Japan. Ubisoft announced on June 21st 2013 that the Pc version of Black Flag would be delayed a few weeks from its original October 29th 2013 release date. The new release date became November 19th and November 22nd for North America and Europe respectively. A Japanese Manga adaption was written and illustrated by Takashi Yano and Kenji Oiwa respectively and was released for serialisation in Shueisha's Jump X magazine on August 10th 2013. however the manga is just an adaption with several contradictions of the games storyline.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag received favourable reviews according to review site Metacritic, with critics mainly praising the open world gameplay side-quests, graphics and navel combat. As of November 2013 Hardcore Gamer ranked Black Flag as the 70th greatest game of the seventh generation era and Game Informer ranked Black Flag fifth in the AC series in 2015. Black Flag received numerous nominations from the Gaming awards winning the 2013 Spike VGX 2013 awards for Best Action-Adventure Game and the 2013 GameSpot Game of the Year awards for both Xbox and PS4. I attempted to play Black Flag due to the changes in Gameplay and storyline, however I really struggled with it and this is the game that put me off Assassin's Creed for a few years. As such Ive given the game a 1/10 ranking and I dont really recommend the game to anyone Bar the extreme completist gamers.

Assassin's Creed Rouge

The Plot is set in the Mid-18th century during the seven years war and follows Shay Patrick Cormac, an assassin-turned-templar who hunts down former members of his brotherhood after being betrayed by them.

- Assassin's Creed Rouge Wiki

Assassin's Creed Rouge was revealed to be in development under the name Comet for release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in March of 2014. By the end of March additional information revealed that the setting would be New York around 1758 and included ship sailing like the previous game Black Flag for which this game would be it's sequel. Rouge was the first game to include a Templar as the main Protagonist named Shay. On August 5th 2014 Ubisoft announced the name as Assassin's Creed: Rouge and the Release dates to be November 11th 2014 for North America and November 13th for Europe and Australia. The game received a remaster and was re-released for the PS4 and Xbox one in 2018. Rouge is meant to “Fill the gaps” of the story between III and Black Flag with ties to Both the Kenway saga and unity. Both Haytham Kenway and Adewale from III and Black flag respectively turn up in Rouge.

Rouge follows its predecessors as an action-adventure, stealth game and like Black Flag, Rouge has the use of a player controlled ship called the Morrigan, however due to a shallower draft the Morrigan unlike the Jackdaw from Black Flag can sail up/downriver. The legendary ship battle and arctic environment play from Black Flag makes a reappearance although the change in sea swimming doesn't include the Arctic due to a change in health use but the player is able to swim in the southerly waters of the 'River Valley' area.

Assassin's Creed Rouge received mixed reviews form critics according to review website Metacritic, however this was chalked up to the tying up of loose ends from III and Black Flag as well as having a few bugs in Rouges gameplay. As of December 31st 2014 Ubisoft had shipped 10 million copies of both Rouge and Unity combined and in December 2015 It was ranked sixth best game in the AC franchise by Game Informer. I've not played Rouge and as such I cannot recommend the game to anyone objectively or give it a rating.

Assassin's Creed Unity

The story is set in Paris on the eve of the French Revolution and follows Arno Dorian and his fellow assassin's as Dorian attempts to avenge his foster father's death, as well as discover Templar infighting as a result of the Revolution.

- Assassin's Creed Unity Wiki

On March 19th 2014, images for the game were leaked under the game's name Unity showing an Assassin in Paris. By the 21st, Ubisoft confirmed the games existence and released pre-alpha game footage. The game play includes a first, a four player co-op and on November 11th 2014 the game was released on the Ps4, Xbox one and PC in North America and a few days later on November 13th for Europe and Australia.

Assassin's Creed Unity received mixed reviews upon release, with praise aimed towards the visuals, improved gameplay characterization narrative ETC, however the lack of innovative gameplay, unrefined controls and numerous bugs and graphical issues were criticized. Ubisoft offered both an apology and compensation due to the poor launch of the game due to technical issues. I played not even ten minutes into unity and couldn't bring myself to complete the mission let alone finish the game, this was due to how terrible the tech issues. I dont recommend this game to anyone unless the bugs get sorted out and I give what little of the game I played a 2/10.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Assassin's Creed Syndicate in 1868, at the tail end of the industrial Revolution, with the Assassin Brotherhood all but eradicated in Victorian London, twins Jacob (Paul Amos) and Evie Frye (Victoria Atkin) leave Crawley for London and arrive to find a City controlled by the Templars. With both the Church and the Monarchy losing their power. Raised as Assassins to follow the creed, Jacob and Evie aim to take back the city from Templar control by infiltrating and uniting London's criminal underworld aided by notable figures of the era such as novelist Charles Dickens, biologist Charles Darwin, inventor Alexander Graham Bell, political theorist Karl Marx, nurse Florence Nightingale, Duleep Singh (The Last Maharajah of the Sikh Empire), Sergeant Frederick Abberline of the Metropolitan Police Service (Known for his investigation of Jack the Ripper) and Queen Victoria. Additionally Lydia Frye (Lisa Norton) appears in a separate World War 1 segment, where she aids Winston Churchill in defending London against a new enemy espionage faction.

  • Assassin's Creed Syndicate Wiki

In December 2014 images and information for the new game was leaked under the name Victory, by May 2015 Victory had been renamed Syndicate and by may 15th the game was officially announced by Ubisoft. The game was released on PS4 and Xbox 1 on October 23rd 2015 with the Microsoft Windows version was released on November 19th 2015.

Syndicate received generally favourable reviews for both the PS4 and Xbox1 versions with mixed reviews for the PC versions with a 7-%+ rating across the board from critics. Some critics stated that the use of the Combat, Carriage driving mechanics and the grappling hook lowered the pleasure of the game somewhat and made it feels like cheating. I really love syndicate its one of my favourite of the AC franchise. Like the others I recommend it for all completist gamers and give it a 7/10.

Assassin's Creed Origins

The Story is set in Ptolemaic Egypt and follows a Medjay named Bayek, whose fight to protect his people, leads him to create the Secret Order the Assassin's, with the game exploring the origin of their conflict with the Knights Templar, serving as a prequel to the entire series.

- Assassin's Creed Origins Wiki.

Ubisoft took 2016 to re-examine the Assassin's Creed Franchise and take the year to evolve the game mechanics and make sure the delivery of the unique and Memorable Gameplay that is the Assassin's Creed Franchise. The slow launch of previous game Syndicate had added to the decision. Director of Black Flag Ashraf Ismail commented on an interview that by waiting the year and using it to develop an Ancient Egyptian setting. By June 2017 the announcement of the Ptolemaic Egypt setting had been released and by October 2017 the game was released world wide on the PS4, Xbox 1 and Windows.

Origins received Favourable Reviews from Critics with an 80%+ in most of the Critics. Like others in the franchise Origins was nominated for numerous awards and won both the Best Console Game for Gamescom 2017 and the Outstanding Visual Effects in a real time project for the 16th Visual Effects Society Awards 2018. Out of the whole Franchise Origins is one of the few that I have not played mainly due to not liking the storylines tied to the game, as such I do not have a recommendation or rating for this game.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The game takes place during the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta, at the height of Classical Greece. Players choose between two playable Protagonists; Alexios and Kassandra, and embark on a quest to discover mysteries surrounding their family, as well as to undermine a proto-Templar Organisation; the Cult of Kosmos.

- Assassin's Creed Odyssey wiki

Odyssey was leaked in May 2018 due to French website Jeuxvideo before being announced at E3 2018. The game went onto be released on the 5th of October 2018 for Microsoft windows, PS4 and Xbox 1. The game went onto receive generally favourable reviews receiving 80%+ from most critic websites. Odyssey went onto be nominated for near 50 awards in various categories in various award ceremonies, winning Best Artistic Design at the 2018 Titanium Awards. I have not played Odyssey due to not liking the setting or storyline for the game. As such I do not have any recommendation or rating for this game.

Assassins Creed: Valhalla

As of April 2020 the newest game to be released in the Assassins creed franchise is Assassins Creed Valhalla, as the name suggests, the game has a Norse setting and involves Vikings. Ubisoft Montreal and fourteen other studios under Ubisoft are working together in its development, the game however had been leaked in 2019 under the name Assassins Creed Kingdom. The game is set to be released on November 17th 2020 for Microsoft windows, PS4, Xbox1 and stadia, as well as be the first Ubisoft release on PS5 and Xbox series X. I'm really excited for this game, mainly due to the Norse element and I have a love for Norse history and mythology and will be buying a copy as and when I can.
