Hey there Earthlings, Alternatives and Trollers. Put down that mouse and lend an ear. Welcome to The Bandersnatch blog where we talk weird, wacky and wondrous. I'm Mama Ogre and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the popular TV show The Vicar of Dibley.

The Vicar of Dibley follows the induction of a female vicar to a small Oxfordshire village after the 1992 changes that the church of England that permitted the ordination of Women. And the reactions of the villagers she becomes great friends with.

The show ran for three seasons from November 10th 1994 to January 22nd 1998 and includes seven charity shorts for comic relief the most recent in 2015. . The show went onto receive multiple British Comedy Awards including best British comedy actress award for Emma Chambers, Two international Emmys and was a multiple British academy television awards nominee. The vicar of Dibley placed third on a BBC poll of Britain's Best Sitcom. As of April 2020 the show was filmed for a new comedy short in The Big Night In fundraising for both Comic Relief and Children in need. Due to the pandemic the segment was filmed at Dawn French's home who reprised her role as the Vicar Geraldine Granger. The show can be seen through reruns on TV as well as on Netflix (Link below).

I loved watching the vicar of Dibley as a child, Dawn French was one of my first favourite comedians and the show was one of those must watch family shows its definitely classic gold, that's part of British comedy history, My favourite charecters were Frank Pickle played by actor John Bluthal, Letitia Cropley played by actress Liz Smith and of Course Geraldine Granger played by Dawn French. I highly recommend you watch the show regardless of your comedy taste and give the show a 9/10.
