Hey there Earthlings, Alternatives and Trollers. Put down that mouse and lend an ear. Welcome to The Bandersnatch blog where we talk weird, wacky and wondrous. I'm Mama Ogre and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the American TV show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Diners, Drive-ins and Dives often nicknamed Triple D, is an American food reality TV series that premiered on the Food Network on April 23rd 2007 hosted by Guy Fieri. The show originated as a one-off special that aired the previous year on November 6th. The show features a “Road-Trip” concept similarly shown to the TV shows, Road Tasted, Giada's Weekend Getaways and $40 a Day. Fieri travels mainly around the US, Canada and Mexico attending various Diners, Drive-in restaurants and Dive Bars. He's also featured restaurants from several European cities including London in the UK, Florence in Italy as well as in Cuba. Triple D is currently in its 33rd season topping out at 419 episodes as of posting this Blog.

Each Episode follows a generally unified theme like Burgers, Seafood, Ribs etc and visiting numerous places in each city that works with that theme. Many small and independent businesses featuring not only traditional comfort food but those with regional styles or Ethnic Specialities. The restaurants would often use fresh ingredients, home-style recipes or employ Gourmet approaches to dishes not normally considered Gourmet. Guy Fieri often interacts with the customers and staff to not only get their opinions of the food but how to prepare one or more of the dishes on the menu. I personally love Triple D. I feel I learn a lot about cooking food and discovering new recipes/creations and adaptions of old dishes. I give the show a 10/10 and recommend it to EVERYONE not just foodies.

Guy Ramsay Fieri was born on January 22nd 1968 and grew up to become an American restaurateur, author and an Emmy Award winning TV Presenter, He currently co-owns three restaurants in California and licences his name to restaurants in NYC and Las Vegas, Nevada and is known for hosting various TV series for the Food Network. By 2010 The New York Times reported that Fieri had become the “Face of the Network” brining what was considered an “Element of rowdy, Mass-market culture to American food TV” and that his “Prime-time shows attract more male viewers than any others on the network”.
