Hey there Earthlings, Alternatives and Trollers. Put down that mouse and lend an ear. Welcome to The Bandersnatch blog where we talk weird, wacky and wondrous. I'm The Bandersnatch and I have no idea what I'm doing.

As you should know Tuesdays is book blog day were we talk about one particular book and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the well known classic the Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas.

Set between 1625 and 1628, IT recounted the adventures of a young man name d'Artagnan after he leaves home to travel to Paris, hoping to join the Musketeers of the guard. Although d'Artagnan is not able to join this elite group immediately, he is befriended by three of the most formidable musketeers of the age- Athos, Porthos and Aramis, The Three Musketeers and becomes involved in affairs of state and at court.

Serialised in French between March and July of 1844, The Three Musketeers was later adapted into several languages including English at least three times after its publication and during the 20 Th century was released several times as TV shows and Movies, my favourate adaptions are the 1993 and the 2011 movies. The Three Musketeers are continued with the books Twenty years after and The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten years later. Whilst I've read The Three musketeers I appreciate the movies more. I do think everyone who wants to read the classics should consider this book one of them as such I give the book a 6/10.

Alexandre Dumas was born on July 24th 1802 in France as Dumas Davy de La Pailleterie and was also known as Alexandre Dumas Pere. He passed away on December 5th 1870 with numerous works under his belt including The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers and Twenty years after. Dumas is one of the most widely read French authors with many of his novels -first published as serials- translated into many languages and been adapted into nearly 200 films.
