Hey there Earthlings, Alternatives and Trollers. Put down that mouse and lend an ear. Welcome to The Bandersnatch blog where we talk weird, wacky and wondrous. I'm The Bandersnatch and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on Christopher Titus's 2007 special Fifth Annual end of the World tour.

It's the end of the world people, an Armageddon checklist.”

With this special, Titus earns the listener's trust with familiar topics like parenthood and the Bush Jr. Administration, covered in an especially cutting fashion. Titus crawls into some truly dark territory as the comedian covers his eye-opening and draining visit to Iraq, priests who face molestation charges, and his father's numerous heart attacks and eventual death. Titus deconstructs his inner nihilist across the routine as a disgusted and damaged comic who is “Pretty good at finding funny in a dark place”, then in the second half, becomes a gripping and surprisingly sentimental storyteller trying to cope with a world gone wrong, while simultaneously dealing with the loss of his father. He idealizes his brutish dad after he's gone, and sees all the caring through the cracks in the man's gruff exterior. The FIFTH ANNUAL END OF THE WORLD TOUR is a strange mix of painful, poignant, and very funny. It sticks to the bones.

After finding out about Christopher Titus and his work through Norman Rockwell is bleeding, I began a major viewing session of his work, Fifth annual End of the World Tour is second in his run of shows. Whilst it continues to make me laugh with Titus's off-brand of humour, It didn't quite hit me the same way as Rockwell or later shows such as Love is Evol and Voice in my head did, as such I give this show a 7/10. I do however recommend this special to those who've seen Titus's other works and likes this type of humour.

Born in 1964 to a dysfunctional family Christopher Todd Titus grew up mostly in California and is an American Comedian, Podcaster and Actor. Titus had a show in the early 2000's called Titus which revolved around his first special called Norman Rockwell is bleeding and the exploits of his dysfunctional family and shocking life experiences.

Christopher Titus has a new show out called Carrying Monsters with the alt title of stories I shouldn't tell you can buy through the combustion lounge alongside all of his other specials and the Titus 20th special, link to the website in the bibliography down below. Christopher Titius also has a weekly podcast that comes out on Fridays on his Youtube channel link also down below.
