Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the kids TV show RECESS.

RECESS portrays the lives of six fourth graders cheeky and popular lovable rouge Theodore Jasper TJ Detweiler (Ross Malinger/Andrew Lawrence), Jock Vince LaSalle (Rickey D'Shon Collins), Tomboy Ashley Spinelli (Pamela Adlon), Wise Fool Mikey Blumberg (Jason Davis), Geek Gretchen Grundler (Ashley Johnson) and awkward new kid Gus Griswald (Courtland Mead) as they go about their lives in a school environment at Third Street School. The school operates as a microcosm of a traditional human society with a set of unwritten laws, government and class set. The series follows the main six as they try to work the balance between individuality and social order as well as defending their freedom from perceived threats from adults, the school administration or social norms. RECESS ran through three seasons from 1997 to 2001 with reruns happening along with three movies happening until 2004.

I Love RECESS its been a good part of my life since childhood, having spent several weekends at my grandparents watching episodes via Cartoon Network. MY favourite character has to be Spinelli the tough as nails tomboy with a heart of gold My favourite episodes are S2 E11 The Story of Whomps/Weekend at Murial's where TJ is taken to court for creating a word to use instead of swearing and Spinelli spends the weekend at Miss Finsters and S3 E20 Dodge ball city/Space Cadet where the gang find out why Gus doesn't play Dodge ball and Gretchen gets in contact with NASA. Out of the three movies I Love Taking the fifth grade and over all I give RECESS a 9/10.
