Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on Youtuber duo Sam and Colby
Born in Kansas on November 27th 1996 Samuel “Sam” Golbach and on January 2nd 1997 Cole “Colby” Brock, the pair that would eventually become the well known American Youtuber duo Sam and Colby met attending Blue Valley High School. The pair started making videos online via the app Vine, where their most popular videos were “Following Fat People” and “Public Disturbance”. Their last vine was uploaded on October 2017 2016 three months before the app was shut down.
On October 28th 2014, Sam and Colby created their YouTube channel and later uploaded their first video on November 13th 2014. The first set of videos were mainly comedy and Challenges however over time the videos transformed and by 2020 it was mainly Explorations and Overnight videos.
A change was set to come after the duo was arrested on January 26th 2019 after exploring an abandoned school that was under construction and attempting to leave via the car park next door, on April 6th 2019 the duo decided to take a break from making content until further notice, They eventually put their mugshots on T-Shirts. On May 1st 2019 the duo returned to YouTube after some time off and some creative discussion, Sam and Colby announced their return with the XPLR series 25x25!, The series of planned bucket list of twenty five experiences by the time the pair were both twenty five.
Sam and Colby also started delving into paranormal videos, creating various series and hour long videos around spooky places such as The Stanley Hotel, Witches Forest and The Conjuring House. These videos often included friends Corey Scherer and Jake Webb with occasional accompaniment from others including medium Amanda Raye and friend Mackie Albertson. The duo are currently on their second Paranormal series Empath (At the time of writing three episodes posted, time of posting four episodes posted), which looks to be dealing with empathic people and followed the first 8 episode Paranormal series Attachment which loosely followed the possibility of one of them having a ghostly attachment from Hell Week. Whilst YouTube is their career, Sam and Colby have also a Merch line, run off of their website XPLR.com, which they also have an app for. Their clothes are meant for exploration hence being called XPLR. They also had a website for people struggling called The Life Project but it was ended. However they've rebranded The Life project to help support children and have a goal of making them successful.
I stumbled across Sam and Colby's videos during 2017 and have been fans of theirs for the past five years or so, I find both of them nice guys and appreciate the time and effort thy put into their videos research, filming and editing. I highly recommend giving them a follow and a look and possible buying of their Merch. All of their social media is in the Bibliography down below.
