Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on 5 of Christmas's well known movies: Miracle on 34th Street, Arthur Christmas. How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A muppet Christmas Carol and Krampus.


Miracle on 34th street (1947 & 1994)


The story follows Kris Kringle who upon being made the Santa Claus for Macy's(1947)/Cole's(1994) after complaining to events director Doris Walker about the previous Santa being a drunk. He does so well he's hired to play Santa at the store on 34th street.


Miracle on 34th Street is an American Christmas fantasy comedy drama film first released by 20th century fox in 1947 having been written and directed by George Seaton and writer Valentine Davies, the movie received a remake which was released in 1994 also by 20th Century Fox with George Seaton returning as a writer alongside John Hughes and director Les Mayfield.


Arthur Christmas (2011)


Arthur Christmas follows the story of Arthur Claus the clumsy but well meaning son of Father Christmas who on Christmas Eve finds out his fathers high tech ship has left behind a girls much wanted and requested Christmas present. So accompanied by his free-spirited and reckless grandfather a team of reindeer and a wrapping paper obsessed elf, he heads out to deliver the present personally.


Arthur Christmas is an animated Christmas comedy movie co-produced by Sony Pictures animation and Aardman Animations (Its second movie feature after 2006's Flushed Away) with Barry Cook and Peter Baynham as co-director and co-writer respectively with Sarah Smith (Her feature directorial debut) with Ashley Jenson, Jim Broadbent, James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, Bill Nighy and Imelda Staunton as part of the cast.


How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)


Based on the 1957 Dr. Seuss book of the same name, How the Grinch stole Christmas is an American Christmas fantasy comedy film released in 2000 directed by Ron Howard and produced with Brian Grazer and follows The Grinch a cranky, solitary creature who attempts to thwart the Christmas plans of the who's of Whoville on Christmas eve, thanks to the help of 6 year old Cindy Lou The Grinch miraculously realizes that Christmas is not all about money and Presents.


A Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)


Adapted from Charles Dickens 1843 novella A Christmas Carol, The Muppets Christmas Carol which follows the original story closely, bar some artistic licence to suit Muppets aesthetic, was released on December 11th 1992 by Buena Vista Pictures Distribution. Michael Caine stars as the titular character of Ebenezer Scrooge alongside the muppet performers Dave Goelz, Steve Whitmore, Jerry Nelson and Frank Oz. The Muppets Christmas Carol is the first movie produced after the deaths of Muppets creator Jim Henson and Performer Richard Hunt, the movie is dedicated to both of them.


Krampus (2015)


Krampus is a 2015 Christmas Horror Comedy film based on the eponymous folklore character. The movie follows a dysfunctional family squabbling at Christmas, which does two things firstly causing the young son to loose his festive spirit and release the Krampus, As the Krampus lays siege to the neighbourhood the family must band together to save one another from a monstrous fate.


The Krampus is a horned anthropomorphic figure from Central and Eastern Alpine folklore of Europe who during the Advent season, specifically on December 6th joins Father Christmas in visiting children and scares those who have misbehaved. The 5th of December is Krampus Day.
