Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on The Bermuda Triangle.
The Bermuda Triangle AKA the Devil's Triangle is a loosely defined region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean, basically a watery triangle in between the points of Florida, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. According to various urban legends a number of aircraft and ships have said to have disappeared in the area under various mysterious circumstances. The idea that an area was prone to unusual disappearances became prominent in during the mid-20th century, most sources that are reputable often dismiss the idea that there's any mystery about it.
An article written by Edward Van Winkle Jones which appeared in various American newspapers on September 17th 1950, was the earliest to suggest unusual disappearances happened in the Bermuda area. Edward Van Winkle Jones usually wrote for the Miami Herald and the newspapers were distributed via the Associated Press. Although there have been several theories stating Supernatural causes for the disappearances, Geographical and Environmental factors are most likely responsible. One hypothesis suggested is that Pilots fail to account for the agonic line (the place at which there is no need to compensate for magnetic compass variation) as they approach the Bermuda Triangle, which results in a significance in navigational error and catastrophe. Another theory that's popular is associated with missing shipping vessels which are caught off guard by rouge waves (massive waves which can reach up to 100 feet or 30.5 meters). Such waves theoretically could take out boats and planes, destroying all evidence of their existence.
