As you should know Tuesdays is book blog day were we talk about one particular book and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on The Bandersnatch's current Top 5 Long Time Authors list.
As a long time avid reader I've always had a list in m head which has evolved since I was a child, this Top 5 is my current list of favourite authors.
Phillipa Gregory CBE
Named “The Queen of British Fiction” by AudioFile magazine for her work as a Historical Novelist such as The Other Boleyn Girl, The Queen's Fool and The White Queen. Phillipa Gregory has been writing and publishing her works since 1987. The white Queen has gone onto have a TV adaptions and The Other Boleyn Girl has gone onto have two Movie adaptions.
Gillian Flynn
Gillian Flynn is an America Author, Screenwriter and Producer who is best known for her thriller and Mystery Novels such as Sharp Objects (2006), Dark Places (2009) and Gone Girl (2012). Gone Girl subsequently, was adapted into a Movie of the Same name in 2014.
George R. R. Martin.
George R. R. Martin is an American author, TV writer and TV producer. He is best known as the author of the epic fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire (ASOIAF) which was adapted into the award winning TV series Game of Thrones (2011-2019) as well as its prequel series House of the Dragon (2022-present...as of the Blog). Martin also helped in the creation of the Wild Cards Anthology series as well as contributed in the world building for Elden Ring (2022).
J. R. R. Tolkien CBE
J. R. R. Tolkien was an English writer and philologist and was also the author of both The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings. He passed away on September 2nd `973.
Mo Hayder
Born Clare Damaris Bastin, Mo Hayder is a pen name to which she used to publish many thriller fiction including Birdman, The Treatment and Poppet. Hayder once acted under the name Candy Davies, starring in Are you being served? As Miss Belfridge. Hayder's books as of 2021 have sold more than 6.5 million copies. Hayder passed away on July 28th 2021.
