As you should know Tuesdays is book blog day were we talk about one particular book and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on The Bandersnatch's Long Time Top 5 books.


As a long time avid reader I've always had a list in m head which has evolved since I was a child, This Top 5 is my current list of favourite books.


  1. The Hobbit

by J. R. R. Tolkien


The Hobbit written by English Author J. R. R. Tolkien is an children's fantasy novel, published in 1937 to critical acclaim. The book is recognised as a classic in children's literature and selling over 100 million copies becoming one of the best selling books of all time. The story follows hobbit Bilbo Baggins as he aids Thorin Oakenshield and his company of Dwarves to retake the lonely mountain from the dragon Smaug.


2. Gone Girl

by Gillian Flynn


Gone Girl (2012) is a crime thriller written by Gillian Flynn which made the New York Times best seller list. Gone Girl follows the story of Nick Dunne who is suspected to be behind the disappearance of his wife Amy.


3. Game of Thrones

George R. R, Martin


A Game of Thrones (1996) is the first book in the A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series by American Author George R. R. Martin, follows the lives of various members of the noble houses of Westeros and Essos through various points of view.


4. The Other Boleyn Girl

by Phillipa Gregory


The Other Boleyn Girl (2001) is a historical novel written by British author Phillipa Gregory which is loosely based on the life of 16th century aristocrat Mary Boleyn sister (Of which little is known about) of the famous second wife of King Henry 8th, Anne Boleyn. The story follows Mary through her life spent during the reign of Henry the 8th as he seeks annulment from his first wife Catherine of Aragon in his quest for a male heir.


5. Poppet

The 6th book in the Jack Caffery series,Poppet (2013) follows Jack as he attempts to solve the mystery that haunts Beechway High Security Unit. Poppet is both under the Thriller Genre and Crime Fiction/
