Hey there Earthlings, Alternatives and Trollers. Put down that mouse and lend an ear. Welcome to The Bandersnatch blog where we talk weird, wacky and wondrous. I'm The Bandersnatch and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the BBC Sounds/Podcast The Witch Farm.

The Witch Farm Podcast aired in 2022 having followed the Battersea Podcast and Uncanny in 2021 having shared the same writer and producer Danny Robins. The podcast follows the story of couple Bill and Liz as they move into their first home along with Laurence, bills son from his first marriage, situated in the Brecon Beacons national park in Wales in 1989. After spending the summer organising and renovating in somewhat remote bliss, the atmosphere changes as strange supernatural things start happening and when you have no immediate neighbours or other witnesses, everything can be terrifying.

I came across The Witch Farm after listening to both the Uncanny Podcast and the Battersea Poltergeist, I found it riveting and interesting. I ended up listening through 3-4 times due in part to falling asleep whilst listening. As such I highly recommend giving it a listen especially if you love unusual stories or the paranormal. I give it a 9/10 on the Bandersnatch Blog scale.

Danny Robins, Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, September 1976, is an English comedy writer, Performer, broadcaster and journalist who started his career at Bristol university ad part of the trio act “Club Seals” alongside Marcus Brigstocke and Dan Tetsell. “Club Seal” was a spoof archaeology programme of the TV show We are History (BBC2 2000) which was followed by a BBC Radio 4 adaption of their Edinburgh comedy fringe festival show The Museum of Everything. Robins would go onto write other shows for Radio 4 alongside several children;s comedy TV shows for CBBC.

Robins' interest in the supernatural has led him to research and write several Radio Series and Podcasts on the subject including the podcast Haunted for Panoply in 2017 and for BBC Radio 4 and BBC sounds he wrote and presented The Battersea Poltergeist 2021, followed by Uncanny later that year with The Witch Farm following in 2022. Robins also wrote the play 2:22 A Ghost Story which has starred Lily Allen and won Best Play at the 2022 WhatsOnStage Awards.
