Hey there Earthlings, Alternatives and Trollers. Put down that mouse and lend an ear. Welcome to The Bandersnatch blog where we talk weird, wacky and wondrous. I'm The Bandersnatch and I have no idea what I'm doing.
Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the Celtic shanty-pop musician Sail North.
Sail North is the result of The Founder -IE The Captain- having a choice of choosing a conventional job or choosing the unknown (due in part of having tight finances). He chose the unknown and became Sail North.
Sail North was an unexpected choice of name, but thanks to hindsight makes perfect sense as Sail North is considered a call to adventure and an invite to follow inspiration wherever or whenever it leads. Sail North started out as a personal vision and thanks to collaboration with like-hearted creatives, became something bigger. The community aka The Crew who believed in the journey as much as The Captain and this “Celtic Shanty-Pop” project became more than music, It became a movement.
Whilst Sail North isn't currently on tour or been on tour I am patiently waiting for when they do. My favourite song they've done is Calypso which Sail North co-wrote and co-produced with Garon Brett and released on April 11th 2025. I highly recommend you go give them a follow on socials medias' and a listen on Spotify or Apple music.
If you follow any creative artists, content creators or the like and cannot buy any of their Merch but consume their content keep an eye out for their Patreon and donate a small amount if you wish, that will help the creative community thrive.
