As you should know Tuesdays is book blog day were we talk about one particular book and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the House of The Dragon Fanfic: The Old Therebefore by FireandInfactuation.

When Princess Rhaenyra Targaryon wakes from an awful dream of a future that may yet come to be she has to decide what she will do with it.

Will she find it in herself at only four and ten name days to do what needs to be done to ensure the survival of her house and their dynasty in the seven kingdoms or will she damn them all to hell.

When Prince Daemon Targaryon comes to her having dreamt the same will his support so early on change enough to save them all or will it only cause more chaos than she can hold.

All Rhaenyra knows is that she cannot allow it to be, she will not allow a son of hers to watch her die by the very fire they were taught to revere. She will not stand by in the life she lives while her family is destroyed and her hatchlings are collateral in a war that should not be so.

The Old Therebefore was first posted on the 11^th of October 2025 and has four chapters from its recent post on the 14^th of November 2025 (as of the writing of this blog). I found this fanfic when I fell down a House of the Dragon fanfic rabbit hole. I quite like the story due to its alternate universe/what if/time-travel genre, I recommend reading it and keeping an eye out for chapters and give it an 8/10.
