Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on Hirschsprung's Disease.

Hirschsprung's disease is a rare condition that causes poo to stick in the bowels. It's diagnosing mainly in babies and young children.

Hirschprung's Disease effects your bowels, causing the nerves to fail in allowing the bowls to function normal in pushing poo through your gut. Which means poo builds up and forms a blockage. Which causes constipation and sometimes leads to a serious bowel infection called enterocolitis.

Hirschprung's disease is often picked up after birth and can be fixed with surgery. Symptoms include a swollen belly, vomiting bile (green/yellow fluid), persistent constipation, not feeding well and not gaining much weight. In babies the failure to pass meconium within 48 hours is a sign.
