Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on Ostara. The Spring Equinox.

Ostara is the Pagan name for the Spring Equinox which usually happens around March 20^th. This holiday is one of the three spring celebrations (The others are Imbolc and Beltaine), where light and darkness are in balance again with light on the rise. It's the time of new beginnings and emerging from Winter.

Ostara, is a old High German form of the old English Eostre an Anglo-Saxon Goddess, which is a term derived form a reconstruction done by linguist Jacob Grimm (One of the Brothers Grimm). According to Bede (an English Monk 672-735) Eostre's feasts were held in her month, which was equated to April in the Julian Calender.
