Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the American TV Show show High Potential


High Potential is an American Crime Comedy drama TV Show created by Drew Goddard. It airs on ABC and Disney Plus on Wednesdays. It's based on the 2021 Franco-Belgian TV Series HPI: Haut Potentiel Intellectuel, and has a Czech counter part Pripady Mimoradne Marty which was released in 2022. It currently has two series having premiered on September 17th 2024. As of March 2026 it has been renewed for a third season. The Main Cast Includes Kaitlin Olson as Morgan Gillory, Daniel Sunjata as Adam Karadec, Javicia Leslie as Daphne Forrester, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J as Ava Sinquerra, Matthew Lamb as Elliot Radovic, Judy Reyes as Selina Soto and Steve Howey as Captain Nicholas “Nick” Wagner (as of S2).


The Series follows main character Morgan Gillory, a single mother of three who whilst working as a cleaner at the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department), solves a complex case thanks to her high IQ of 160 (Classifying her as a high potential intellectual -HPI-) and using her unorthodox thinking and keen observational skills. She's hired on as a civilian consultant for the LAPD's Crime Division and put with Detective Adam Karadec, a disciplined and methodical investigator whose by-the-book approach clashes with Morgan's intuitive and unconventional methods. A subplot involves Morgan's request of LAPD's resources to investigate the 15 year disappearance of Roman, the father of her daughter Ava.


I found High Potential halfway through S1 and thanks to being a chronic binge watcher caught up pretty quickly. As of this blog I am caught up with S2 and well excited for S3. My favourite episode of S1 is E11 “The Sauna at the end of the stairs” It shows how messy families can be especially with abuse involved as well as showing both how a case isn't always what it seams and how good Morgan is and my favourite of S2 is E12 “The Faust and the Furious”, the case is about solving the unusual death of a health tech CEO and during a moment where Morgan has a panic attack, Karadec helps her out with a hug, allowing mirror neurons to help calm her down. My favourite characters are Ava and Elliot, due to how they keep Morgan grounded as an adult and a parent and shows her to be more than just a HPI. Definately recommend watching and I give the show a 9/10.
