Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on Sybil Leek.

Sybil Leek was born in the villiage of Normacot in Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England on the 22^nd of February 1917. She was an English Witch. Astrologer, Occult Author and self-proclaimed psychic. She wrote various books on Occult and esoteric subjects, and was dubbed “Britian's most famous witch” by the BBC

Leek grew up in a middle-class family with ties to the Celtic form of witchcraft and a claim of decent from the historical Molly Leigh, who had been accused during the witch hunts. At the age of sixteen Leek married her music teacher though he passed away two years later and Leek returned to stay with relatives. After leaving the witchcraft research association and spending time in the New Forest and a supposed stay with Gypsies. Leek opened three antique shops one in Ringwood, One in Somerset and one in the new forest of Burley. Leek moved to Burley and after some time her eccentric habits resulted in some problems. Media interest in her had grown, whilst giving Burley extra tourism the interest had made several villagers unhappy and Leek emigrated to the US.

In April 1964, Leek was approached by an American publishing house to speak about her book 'A Shop in the High Street' she was also invited to appear on To Tell the Truth an American TV programme, her appearance was on April 13^th 1964. Thanks to the opportunity, Leek would go onto meet Hans Holzer a parapsychologist, a man she would go onto do several paranormal investigations, TV and Radio shows with. Leek would go onto move to LA and meet Israel Regardie, an authority on Kabbalah – an esoteric method/discipline from Jewish mysticism- and Ritual magic.

Leek died on October 26^th 1982 of Cancer at the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
