Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on Waverly Hills Sanatorium

The Waverly Hills Sanatorium is a former sanatorium located in Waverly Hills a neighbourhood in Louisville, Kentucky. It was opened in 1910 as a two story facility to accommodate between 40 to 50 patients suffering from tuberculosis -also known as the white plague. The hospital ran for 52 years and closed in 1961 after the creation and success of the antibiotic drug Streptomycin, which lowered the need for the hospital. In the years since there were many plans for the building including turning it into a hotel and using it for the music festival Sounds of the Underground in August 2007....The music festival didn't return due to Neighbour complaints.

Thanks to the American US TV show Ghost Hunters Waverly Hills has been popularised as one of the “Most Haunted” hospitals in the eastern US. Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej filmed at Waverley Hills twice once for Buzz feed Unsolved and once for Ghost Files. There are currently tours of the ex-hospital conducted in the building and is currently marked as a haunted hospital.

The video game Project Zomboid used Waverly Hills sanatorium as the basis for Sunderland Hills Sanatorium. In 2006 an American Horror Film Death Tunnel was filmed at Waverly Hills and dedicated “To All the Lost Souls of Waverly Hills Sanatorium. May You Find Your Way Home!”

Many Youtbuers have gone to Waverly Hills to film including Sam and Colby, Exploring with Josh and TFIL/OVERNIGHT.
