THE QUEEN's ASSASSIN
by
Melissa De La Cruz.

Caledon Holt is the kingdom of Renovia's deadliest weapon. No one alive can best him in brawn or brains, which is why he's the guilds most dangerous member and the Queen's one and only assassin. He's also bound to the Queen by an impossible vow- to find the missing Deian scrolls, the fount of all magical history and knowledge, stolen years ago by a nefarious sect called the Aphrasians.

Shadow has been training all her life to follow in the footsteps of her mother and aunts – to become skilled enough to join the ranks of the Guild. Though magic has been forbidden since the Aphrasian uprising, Shadow has been learning to control her powers in secret. Hoping that one day she'll become an assassin as feared and revered as Caledon Holt.

When a surprise attack brings Shadow and Cal together, they're forced to team up as assassin and apprentice to hunt down a new sinister threat to Renovia. But as Cal and Shadow grow closer, they'll uncover a shocking web of lies and secrets that may destroy everything they hold dear. With war on the horizon and true love at risk, they'll stop at nothing to protect each other and their kingdom in this stunning first novel in the Queen's Secret series.

RED HOOD

Elana K. Arnold

You are alone in the woods, seen only by the unblinking yellow moon, Your hands are empty. You are nearly naked.

And the wolf is angry

Since her grandmother became her caretaker when she was four years old. Bisou Martel has lived a quiet life in a little house in Seattle. She's kept mostly to herself. She'd been good, but then comes the night of homecoming, when she finds herself running for her life over roots and between trees, a fury of claws and teeth behind her. A wolf attacks. Bisou fights back. A new moon rises. And with it, questions. About the blood in Bisou's past and on her hands as she stumbles home. About broken boys and vicious wolves. About girls lost in the woods – frightened, but not alone.

Red Hood will be released on February 24th 2020, This does sound like a good modern retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. I definitely want to see where this goes.

THE WOMEN IN BLACK
by
Madeline St John.

The Women in Black, so named for the black frocks they wear while working at an upscale department store called Goode's, are run off their feet selling ladies' cocktail dresses during the Christmas rush. But in Sydney in the 1950's, there's always time to pursue other goals...

Patty, in her mid-thirties, has been working at Goode's for years. She's married to Frank, who eats a steak for dinner every night, watches a few minutes of TV and then turns in, leaving Patty to her own thoughts. She wants a baby, but Frank is always too tired for that kind of thing. Sweet Fay, wants to settle down with a nice man, but somehow nice men don't see her as marriage material.

The Glamorous Magda runs the high end gowns department. A Slovenian emigre who met her Hungarian husband in a refugee camp, Magda is clever and cultured. She finds the Australians to be unfashionable, and dreams of opening her own boutique one day.

Lisa, a teenager awaiting the results of her final exams, takes a job at Goode's for the holidays. She wants to go to university and secretly dreams of being a poet, but her father objects to both notions. Magda takes Lisa under her wing, and by the time the last marked-down dress has been sold, all of their lives will be changed forever.

The Women in Black will be released on February 11th 2020. This book does look interesting and definitely reminds me of Mrs Maisel, which if you love the show you'd love this book.

MOVIES:

BIRDS OF PREY: THE EMANCIPATION OF HARLEY QUINN.

Harley Quinn has split with the Joker following the events of Suicide Squad. Batman has disappeared, leaving Gotham City unprotected from crime. When a young girl named Cassandra Cain comes across a diamond belonging to crime lord who goes by the name Black Mask, Harley joins forces with Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to protect her.

- First Screening website

Cathy Yan is the Director with the screenplay (Based on the comics of the same name created by Chuck Dixon, Jordan B. Gorfinkel and Greg Land) written by Christina Hodson

The release date of the movie is February 7th 2020 and If I must say I'm rather excited for this movie to come out, although if you're a DC/Comic fan in general you're gonna be excited for this film.

THE BOY 2

Unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, a young family moves into a guest house on the estate where their young son makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms.

- First Showing website

The release date is February 21st 2020 and I have to admit if it's as good as the first it will be a great movie.

WENDY

The Classic story of Peter Pan is wildly reimagined in this ragtag epic from Benh Zeitlin (Of Beasts of the Southern Wild). Lost on a mysterious island where ageing and time have become unglued, Wendy must fight to save her family, her freedom and the joyous spirit of youth from deadly peril of growing up.

Wendy will be released to theatres on the 28th of February 2020, This one does look interesting and could be a great twist/retelling of the Peter Pan story.

GAMES:

KOTOR
(Knights Of The Old Republic):

News has come about that the well loved KOTOR franchise is getting a reboot involving several elements of the first two games, however there has been some issues Wether or not its merely a simple reboot or a sequel of sorts. This could be tied into the KOTOR movie being bandied around for the past two years.

Fortnite is a vastly popular game across multiple platforms It's first season of chapter 2 is finally coming to an end. Chapter 2 Season 2 is being released February 20th 2020 this is all thats known with season 2 being kept under wraps.
