Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Tuesdays are book club day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the Fanfiction story, Child of the Storm.

Fan Fiction or fanfiction (Oft abbreviated to fan fic, fanfic, fic, ff) is fictional writing written by fans, commonly of an existing work of fiction. The author uses copyrighted intellectual property from the original creator(s) as a basis for their own writing, often ranging from a few sentences to an entire novel. Fans often use the settings and/or create their own. I can be considered a form of fan labour. Fanfiction can be based on both any fictional and occasionally non-fictional subjects. Common bases for fanfiction includes Novels, Movies, Bands, Video Games even Comic books.

Once, Thor was James Potter, New Mexico being a refinement of Odin's Technique (being murdered didn't do Thor's sanity any favours). After a decade, a mostly reformed Loki restores his memories, introducing Thor's son Harry, to new family and friends. But soon, ancient secrets emerge along with enemies both old and new as darkness rises. Harry is left with a choice: Fight or Die.

Child of the Storm is a crossover story of the Harry Potter and Avengers Universes It was first published on the Fanfiction website on January 11^th 2013 and the posting of the 80^th and last chapter was posted on July 12^th 2016, completing the story in its entirety at 824,687 words. CotS has reached numerous people having hit 8,233 follows, 9,610 favourites and 8,795 reviews (at time of writing and posting of this blog), This story has also gotten a follow-up story called Ghosts of the Past.

I came across this story whilst on a major Fanfiction reading binge several years ago and I have reread both this story and it's follow-up at various times since their postings, It's my belief that this story blends both the Avengers and Harry Potter Universes really well through use of implied historical backstory especially with magic in general. This is a story I highly recommend to Everyone who loves reading in general, Fanfiction especially. I give the story a 9.5/10, this is only due to not understanding a few details myself...no doubt I'll eventually understand them one day.

Fanfic author Nimbus Llewelyn has been on Fanfiction.Net since January 5^th 2010 and has written 59 stories for Discworld, Good Omens, Primeval, Temeraire, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Torchwood, Lord of the Rings, Dresden Files, Silmarillion, Buffy:The Vampire Slayer, Avengers, James Bond, Smallville, Star Wars, Old Kingdom/Abhorsen series, Sherlock, Kingdom of Heaven, World War Z, Wheel of Time, Green Lantern, Avengers, and X-Men. So far I've only read a few of his works but I'm looking forward to reading more of them in the future.
