Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the 2006 movie Silent Hill.
Rose Da Silva and her husband Christopher are deeply disturbed by their adopted daughter Sharon's constant sleepwalking and nightmares about silent hill, a town in West Virginia that was abandoned 30 years ago due to a massive coal seam fire. Against Christopher's wishes, Rose takes Sharon on a trip to Silent Hill to find Answers. Her erratic behaviour concerns Police Officer, Cybil Bennett. Rose flees from Cybil, but when a girl steps out into the road, Rose crashes and blacks out. Waking up some time later, Rose finds herself in the foggy dimension of Silent Hill and realises Sharon is missing.

Silent Hill is based on the game series of the same name. The game series Silent Hill is a horror media franchise centred on a series of horror survival games, of which there are 8 in the main series, and are played across numerous platforms including PlayStation, X-Box, Gameboy and computer. The first game in the series was released in 1999 on playstation. The Movie's release dates were April 21st and April 31st 2006. The movie recieved31% on website aggregator Rotten Tomatoes and earned $20 Million domestically on its opening weekend earning the No1 spot at the Box-Office at its opening, Silent Hill received a sequel in 2012 called Silent Hill Revelations which is based on Silent Hill 3
A good movie with a good plot despite being based off of a game. I have seen the game been played though haven't played it myself. The transference of story lore between movie and game is pretty good and carries the movie well. I appreciate the make-up and special effects in this movie the most even though I like the lore around Alyssa effectively becoming three people. Highly recommend to the players of the game and horror movie enthusiasts around the world and give it an 8/10.
