Hey there Earthlings, Alternatives and Trollers. Put down that mouse and lend an ear. Welcome to The Bandersnatch blog where we talk weird, wacky and wondrous. I'm The Bandersnatch and I have no idea what I'm doing.

As you should know Tuesdays is book blog day were we talk about one particular book and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the Book Long Way Round, the book accompaniment to the TV show of the same name.

Long Way Round is a TV show Documentary and accompanying book which documented the nineteen thousand mile journey of actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman from London, UK to NYC, US by travelling eastwards. The series aired on Sky One from October 18th 2004 to February 1st 2005, with a repeat in 2008 on BBC2. The series gained two sequels Long Way Down in 2007 and Long Way Up in 2020. All three series are currently up on Apple TV+.

The book of the Series falls under the Travelogue genre and was published by Atria Books on November 2nd 2004 and follows the series closely with both Ewan and Charlie adding extra notes on they felt and what was happening on the journey outside of what was shown on the TV series. I quite liked the fact that there was a book outside of the TV show and have had several copies since its first publication. I highly recommend the book to those who love the TV shows and I give the book a 7/10.

Ewan McGregor (OBE), born on Mach 31st 1971 is an Actor of Scottish decent and Motorbike Enthusiast. His accolades include not only a Primetime Emmy Award, but also a Golden Globe Award and a BAFTA Britannia Humanitarian Award. In 2013, he was appointed as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (an OBE) for his services to Drama and Charity.

Charley Boorman born on August 23rd 1966 is a British TV Presentor, Actor and Travel Writer. A notable Motorbike enthusiast, he Joined McGregor in filming Long Way Round in 2004 alongside its follow up sequels Long Way Down in 2007 and Long Way Up in 2020. Charlie Boorman has an instagram page which is linked in the bibliography down below.

Both McGregor and Boorman have said they were inspired by the Book Jupiter's Travels by Motorcyclist Ted Simon. During their trip Long Way Round they crossed paths with Ted Simon in Mongolia.
