As you should know Tuesdays is book blog day were we talk about one particular book and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on the Memoir Only Say Good Things by Crystal Hefner.
At Just Twenty-one years old, Crystal Harris's life changed forever when she attended a party at the notorious Playboy Mansion. Picked out of the crowd by Hugh Hefner, She became one of his infamous “Girlfriends”, attending glamorous Hollywood parties and travelling the world. Yet this seemingly alluring Lifestyle had a dark side. Hef controlled his Girlfriends with Strict rules regarding everything from their hair to their makeup to their curfews, and Crystal was forced to compete with other women for her spot in the highly hierarchal system. Living at the mansion, she felt more like a fixture than a resident.
She quickly rose to the top, but being Hef's number one girlfriend came at the cost of Crystal's identity outside her role in the Playboy universe. Her fate seamed sealed when Hef surprised her with a marriage proposal she could not imagine refusing. But as Crystal Hefner, she grew increasingly restless to understand who she truly was away from what she saw as Playboy's Toxic culture.

Say Good Things was published on January 23rd 2023 by
Grand Central Publishing. I came across this book in Audiobook form
having listened to Holly Madison's books Down the Rabbit Hole and The
Vegas Diaries (previous Tuesday blogs 12/03/2024 and 19/03/2024).
being on an audiobook and Playboy Related kick I decided to listen to
it. I congratulate Crystal for telling us her story through this
memoir, Like all of those associated with Hefner as his Wives and
Girlfriends, I commend Crystal for speaking out as life must have
been a little like Jekyll and Hyde. I give the book an 8/10.
Born in West Bromwich, UK on April 29th 1986, Crystal Hefner, Nee Harris was an English model and TV personality, having starred as Playmate of the Month for December 2009 and third wife to playboy creator Hugh Hefner from December 2012 to his death in September 2017. As reported this year 2024 (As of writing and posting of this blog) by the New York Times, Crystal buys and sells rental properties.
