As you should know Tuesdays is book blog day were we talk about one particular book and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on American Author George R. R. Martin

Born on September 20^th 1948 in Bayonne, New Jersey, George Raymond Richard Martin, commonly known as George R. R. Martin or G.R.R.M is an American Author, TV Writer and Producer. He is most commonly known for his epic fantasy novels A Song of Ice and Fire (ASOIF) and Fire and Blood, Books of which have gone onto spur two critically acclaimed TV Shows Game Of Thrones (GOT 2011-2019) and House of the Dragon (2022-present.....as of this blog).

Martin started writing as a child, selling monster stories to his fellow classmates and local children, he stopped when a customers mother complained about her child's nightmares. Martin would go onto sell his works-mainly science fiction professionally at the age of 21 after earning a B. S. and an M. S. in journalism from Northwestern university's Medill school of journalism. Martin was eligible for the draft tot he army during the Vietnam war but gained the status of conscientious objector and did alternative service work as a VISTA volunteer (American service program to alleviate poverty).

Martin, is also known to have helped create the Wild Cards Anthology series and has contributed world building for the video game Elden Ring (2022). In 20025, Martin was called the American Tolkien by Leve Grossman of Time. And in 2011 Martin was included in the annual Time 100 list of most influential people in the world. He is a long time resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Where he has helped fund Meow Wolf (an American Arts and Entertainment company) and owns the Jean Cocteau Cinema. The city commemorates March 29^th as George R. R. Martin Day.
