Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on Sands, The Stillbirth and Neonatal Charity.

The Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity also known as Sands is a registered national charity based in the UK that provides support to anyone affected by the death and loss of a baby. The charity is based at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London, UK.

International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is observed in several localities but isn't universally recognized. However from Individuals and families up to organisations from around the world continue to promote greater public awareness of the prevalence of baby loss and the intense grief that often accompanies the experience. The number of locations that officially observe October 15^th as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day has grown since the early 2000's/

The official colours of the cause are pink and blue, and are used as the campaign's awareness ribbon.

The Wave of Light founded in 2003, encourages friends and families of lost babies including organisations to join in, in honour and remembrance by lighting a candle on October 15^th at 7pm for an hour. Buildings, landmarks and venues are illuminated as The Wave of Light crosses each time zone with many smaller gatherings light a candle in remembrance.
