Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on World Theatre Day

World Theatre Day was first initiated in 1962 by the ITI (International Theatre Institute) and is celebrated every year on March 27^th by not only ITI but the International theatre community. Various theatre events are organised both nationally and internationally to mark the occasion. The ITI often has a theme of theatre and a culture of peace chosen to be shared via an international message, often by an invited public figure who would often share their own reflections on said theme. The first World Theatre Day International message in was written in 1962 by Jean Cocteau from France.

President Arvi Kivimasa from the Finnish centre of the ITI proposed the creation of World Theatre Day be instituted, It was brought up first in Helsinki then in Vienna (the 9^th World congress of ITI), The Proposal was backed up by the Scandinavian centres, which helped carry the acclamation.
