Random blog day boo yah. As you should know Fridays is random blog day were we talk anything and everything and pretty much run with it. Today's blog is on Havana Syndrome

Havana Syndrome also known as anomalous health incidents (AHIs) is a disputed and recently created medical condition. Starting in 2016, in a dozen or so overseas locations, US and Canadian government officials and their families reported loud sound related symptoms that lasted for months and included balance problems, cognitive problems, dizziness, insomnia and headaches. Despite not being a recognized disease by the medical community. Various government and non-government agencies as well as several news organizations have conducted investigations into AHIs since 2018.

Several theories have been provided on the causes of AHI, but there's been no consensus. Said theories include social and psychological causes. Possible directed-energy weapons and even toxic chemicals, however no one cause has been agreed upon. The US government has provided both programs and financial support for people that have reported AHI symptoms, though some AHI patients continue to campaign for additional support.

There are no official statistics reported, but there has been regular reports since 2017 of increased people suffering from AHIs, It has been reported to be more than a thousand by early 2022. Most of the cases were affected CIA, US Military and State Department personnel alongside their families. Though some of which were deemed to have normal explanations. A GAO report from July 2024 has stated that three hundred and thirty four people have qualified for AHIs care within the military health system.

There have been a dozen countries where people have experienced AHIs within a variety of circumstances, including in hotels, at home, whilst walking with dogs or driving in cars.
